“Strong” is the adjective
These are the bees knees. They are labour intensive, but the truss system makes them very strong. This trailer design is ideal for big, heavy, and long builds, up to about 11.4 metres plus drawbar. Generally the trailer and floor come as a package. If you’re doing timber framed walls, TELL US. We recommend beefing up the subfloor in this case, depending on several factors.
If you’re looking for a trailer-only option, this can be discussed. Send us an email. Otherwise, see our I-beam trailers or EPS/Freezer panel trailers. These are more cost-effective, but not as strong, and may cause paint to crack if a big, heavy and long house are moved on them. But they are great for static installs where maximum strength is not a requirement.
We feel that our trussed trailers are the strongest tiny home trailer in the NZ market. The truss system has much thought put into it, and has been designed and tested to some extent in CAD as well as the real world. Designed to avoid paint or GIB cracking when moving around the site. NOT intended for on-road transport as, generally, a cabin requiring this strength trailer will be far too heavy (often 5+ tons for a 10m x 3m with mezzanine floors) to be legally transported on the road on a simple light trailer
Built with pre-galvanized steel, a cost-effective corrosion protection system, and a detachable deck, meaning the entire subfloor of your tiny home can be removed from the trailer if needed.
Detachable Subfloor — why?
Our detachable system keeps the house structure and trailer structure separate. We (or you) build your floor cassette on the chassis, fix it down during the build, then unbolt when needed.
Benefits:
- Compliance — Because they are separate structures, you can take the trailer for a WOF by itself. The trailer won’t pass inspection if the attached floor is wider than 2.55m. But, because the floor is a ‘load’, and it isn’t part of the trailer, the bare trailer is within legal limits and will pass WOF. There is practically no restriction on how big a load can be within the scope of tiny homes, there are only laws for managing the transport of over-dimension loads.
- Reuse trailer — You’re investing a lot of money into having a very nice and strong trailer. You may as well have the option to reuse it for something else — Carting timber and building supplies, or using it as a large work platform at an ideal height.
- Multiple cabins — Maybe you have a storage shed in addition to the tiny home. When the truck comes to move your tiny home on the road, you can load the storage cabin on the trailer and move it yourself.
Little Details that set us apart
Steel rusts when it’s wet. When two box sections are lapped, meaning one section put against another, water from rain or condensation can get sucked between the sections via capillary action, and will dry very slowly. As soon as cold weather hits, condensation forming on the steel will get sucked in, and make these areas wet again. This moisture, with time, will rust the steel.
We seal these joins with silicone so no water can get in, and paint over top to keep it tidy.

Standard Features
- Detachable Subfloor System
- Duragal Steel (pre-galvanized, not hot dipped as standard, enquire for pricing)
- CAD Designed and Tested Chassis/Truss and Stress Tested
- Tandem, Triple, or Quad Axle and Suspension
1750kg capacity per axle. So, A Quad axle/suspension setup gives a total load capacity of up to 7 tonnes off road. On-road capacity 2000kg without brakes. 3500kg legal max on road even with brakes. - Up to 3m Width Standard, wider available upon request
- Fully Road Legal
- Sealed steel box section ends – The heat from welding burns away the galvanizing, so we seal the ends to stop air and moisture getting in and rusting these areas.
